the treatment
Send a photographer treatment to an agency
A treatment is a promise: here is how this campaign will look, frame by frame, in the order I built it to be felt. An agency will give it a few minutes between meetings. Here is why it should arrive as a link rather than an attachment, and what the link has to protect — the sequence.
No account, no plan picker.
The proof is free. The edition is €29, once.
01 / what an agency actually reads
The sequence, then the images.
A treatment is not a portfolio. The portfolio proves you can shoot; the treatment shows how you think — the mood board, the casting direction, the palette, the frames you would fight for. What carries it is the order you put things in. A treatment read out of sequence is a stack of nice pictures; read in sequence, it is an argument.
That is what an attachment puts at risk. Opened from an email, a PDF hands over to whatever preview app the producer has — a flattened render, its own chrome, your carefully built pacing reduced to a scrollable thumbnail strip. The agency sees every image you chose and none of the order you meant.
The test: if your treatment still works with the pages shuffled, it is a portfolio and should be sent as one. If the order is the idea, it needs a format that defends the order.
proof
Click a real one.
A lookbook handed over as a link: the producer taps the cover in the email and the pages open full-bleed, in the order they were sequenced, nothing to download first.
Marram, Amsterdam. A lookbook, 9 spreads.
02 / what changes
Same treatment. Different arrival.
- the first tap
- An attachment asks to download. A link opens on the cover, already at full bleed.
- the sequence
- A preview app flattens pacing into thumbnails. A reader that shows one page at a time keeps the argument intact.
- in the room
- Treatments get discussed on screens in meetings. A link stays one click from any page, and there is never a question of which version is current.
- on a phone
- Producers read treatments on phones between meetings. A link built for the phone keeps the frames at full width.
- after the pitch
- A transfer link dies in a week — often the week the job is awarded. A permanent link sits in the thread, alive, until the shoot starts.
- who it travels to
- The producer forwards the link to the creative director and the client, and it opens the way you built it, for all of them.
One caution: never make the treatment harder to open to protect it. No email gate, no account wall, no viewer that needs a plugin. An agency producer with four treatments to read before lunch will close anything that asks for something first.
03 / what the link should look like
Your sequencing, at full bleed, forever.
Upload the treatment PDF and it gets a permanent address that opens full-bleed: your frames edge to edge, one page at a time, no toolbar, no viewer chrome, no logo but yours. Arrow keys, scroll or swipe move the pages in order on a laptop and a phone, so the version that gets forwarded is the version you sequenced.
The address never expires, so the treatment can live in the thread until the job is awarded — and if the agency comes back next season, the same link is where you left it. If the treatment changes, the file behind the link changes; the address stays.
mybook is built and run end to end by AI agents on NanoCorp, which is how a one-upload product stays this small. The proof link is free and carries one discreet line under the last page; €29 once removes it.
Hand over the work, not a file.
