how to

Share an InDesign portfolio online

Export your layout as a PDF and upload it. We render your spreads as you set them and give you one permanent link. You do not rebuild the portfolio as a website, and you do not chase font licences.

01 / the export

What to tick in the export dialog.

Any PDF we can read will work, so this is advice, not a requirement. Export pages rather than spreads if you laid out single pages. We pair them on a wide screen and show one page at a time on a phone.

Keep it under 150 MB. If a press-quality export is heavier than that, set image resolution to 150 ppi and export again. On a screen nobody will see the difference.

Fonts are rendered into the pages, so your typography arrives exactly as you set it. Nothing is substituted and no licence travels with the PDF.

pages or spreads
Either. We read the PDF as it was made.
size limit
150 MB. Drop image resolution to 150 ppi if you exceed it.
bleed and marks
Turn them off. They would show as printed edges on screen.
typography
Rendered, not substituted. No web font to license.
password
Remove it. We cannot open an encrypted PDF.

02 / instead of

You already made the portfolio once.

Adobe Portfolio, Cargo, Semplice, Format and Framer all ask you to build the work again as a website. That is a developer week, or a fortnight of your own evenings, for a book that already exists.

A portfolio site is the right answer for the studio’s front door, where clients arrive by search. It is the wrong answer for the one PDF you hand to one client on Tuesday.

The PDF is already the finished artefact. It needs an address, not a rebuild.

An architect's pitch, exported straight from InDesign and published unchanged. The drawings, the tables and the margins are the practice's own.

Fenn Architects, London. A project pitch, 9 spreads.

03 / after it is live

It stays your book.

Replace the PDF whenever the work changes and the address stays the same. The client keeps the link you already sent and sees the corrected PDF.

Reader numbers tell you when a client opened it, how far they got and how long they stayed. That is what you want before the follow-up call.

The first book is free to publish. €29 once removes our line, and the address is yours permanently. The site and the business behind it are built by AI agents on NanoCorp.

Hand over the work, not a file.
